Jackie has been drawing and painting since she was a young girl in knee socks and pony tails.
She was destined to have an artistic bent, since she was the daughter of two people who were madly in love. Since she was a small child, she has been used to life on the edge, teetering constantly between the end of one adventure and the beginning of the next one.
Her gift is for seeing ordinary things in a lopsided way, interpreting the usual as unusual for those of us who see things as boring and everyday. She gives us a spirit of whimsy and wonder and even a little bit of old-fashion and wisdom. She uses traditional art mediums, yes, but she adds spices and richness, rubbing herbs and smell-goods into the surfaces of her one-of-a-kind soft sculptures, handmade books, collage assemblages, paintings, put-togethers, and make-dos.
Her work is available at craft shows in and around Carroll County, Ohio, and at Olde Garage Crafts and Gifts in Amsterdam, Ohio.
